can you post a link to that upcoming stream?
@pt thnx.
or where it will be
@morgan it'll be on youtube.com/adafruit
thanks
circuitpython good exprience depends on native usb
@morgan for now we're using the USB-UART built in ROM bootloader thats setup on the SAOLA
but there is a USB bootloader! so we'll try that out once we've got a more stable build process
cool
UF2 is awesome
i love ROM bootloaders
https://github.com/microsoft/uf2
microsoft/uf2
UF2 is a file format, developed by Microsoft for PXT (also known as Microsoft MakeCode), that is particularly suitable for flashing microcontrollers over MSC (Mass Storage Class; aka removable flash drive). For a more friendly explanation, check out this blog post. Also, take a look at the list of implementations at the bottom of this document.
we also love UF2
whats the deal with web usb? is that going to be a thing, and any ideas for using it with the s2?
FYI, I'll be posting a transcript and a link to the live stream recording after the Hack Chat
@Adafruit Industries Could you not create a native USB board that the existing ESP 32 or ESP 8266 can plug into to make it a visable as a drive?
Aaron Knoxhave you considered tinyuf2 yet? sounds like more maintainable future for uf2
@aaron knox nope - no native usb support
Hi all! Thanks for doing the Hackchat! Any work or investigation on the ToF support on the S2? Is the primary goal for indoor positioning or have there been other interesting features available there?
Jeff KingDoes EspressIF have any data out on TOF?? (3rd request)
sounds like there's a way to use the I2S audio peripheral to do 'gpio dma' type activities for cameras, displays etc
https://esp32.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=14532 ToF isn't supported yet
as perAre all features going to be using IDF or will some things be implemented without it?

Ahh cool, thanks!
@limor and @all! Cool to see so many "familiar" / well-known faces here :). Getting excited now for all the cool things to come based on the S2. Greetings from Germany✌️, out now!
Thx for this cool chat and all the answers,@Adafruit Industries Not existing ESP32 /8266 I know they're not supported, rather have a new board that is detected as a device on your pc that accepts the files and relays it onto the ESP32 or 8266.
Aaron Knoxany suggestion on esp32 pico antenna design, need to know the impedance matching circuitry, can't find more information on datasheet Thanks.
@tannewt - Can you post a link to your weekly live stream?
@Salman Faris its 50 ohms.
Would you mind comparing the EESP32 chips on the espressif site?
we're planning on making all sorts of devices with the ESP32S2 - feather, metro, CLUE, circuit playground!
@Dan Maloney https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjF7R1fz_OOXBHlu9msoXq2jQN4JpCk8A
@Ben Hencke can you please check this thread https://makergram.com/community/topic/171/need-help-esp32-pico-antenna-design
Bob GreenwadeIs there any difference (that you know of) in how the S2 might handle audio signals, either through analog I/O pins or via I2C?
Adam Bryant@Adafruit Industries would it still be pin compatable with the microbit?
Looking forward to playing with this
Do you know how low level the 802.11 support is?
the WiFi CLUE would be micro:bit shape/pin compatible
Technically 802.11 supports GFSK at 2.4GHz with 1 and 2Mbps datarate...which is the same modulation/encoding as BLE :) Even if it could be (ab)used to just send BLE adverts, that could be pretty interesting
ok turns out the S2 has an arbiter of the ADC2+WiFi so you can use both at once, but wifi will get prioirity
@Salman Faris I've done a chip antenna circuit with the pico, happy to share more details and debug, perhaps of this channel since its OT
Any on-chip/onboard battery management better deep sleep?
@samy kamkar probably not as low as you like!
I hope to see a BLE only one as well
For audio, I2S will get you best quality
@David Bates not that I've seen
light sleep, deep sleep, off.
👍
thank you!
@Dan Maloney may we wrap up and get the engineers back to making hardware ??
Absolutely! Thanks so much for your time today!

pick up a dev board if you want to play with ESP32S2(on a related note, thank you community for all the support as adafruit ships orders when we can as we continue to operate as an essential business to help NYC
Thanks Adafruit! This was a really good session. Thanks for putting up with the chat blips - the system got a little overwhelmed for a bit there.
awesome! thanks you all, super excited for this line and to make a devboard for these, thanks for answering all these great questions
SERVER CRUSHIN
haha, nuthin in stock
Everyone stay healthy out there. Thanks all for your time today.
And don't forget next week's pentesting Hack Chat with Eric Escobar:
@limor and @tannewt :-) Great chat!
Thank you very muchhttps://hackaday.io/event/171299-pentesting-hack-chat
Pentesting Hack Chat
Eric Escobar will host the Hack Chat on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at noon Pacific Time. Time zones got you down? Here's a handy time converter! Professional pentesting is not all cops-and-robbers fun, of course. Pentesters have to stay abreast of the latest vulnerabilities and know what weaknesses are likely to exist at a given facility so they know what to target.
Thanks!
Thank you both!
thank you
@Dan Maloney for organizing it!
Thank youThanks!!
@limor and @tannewt . great info
yeah thanks bothThanks!
Thank you. This was fun and informative.
Thanks
