I'm adding a new project, but when I try to add a picture I always get the error message that only JPG/PNG and TIFF files of less than 5MB are accepted.
Well, I tried a 200kB JPG to start with, tried all 3 file formats, capitalized the extensions and tried 3 different browsers all to no avail....
What am I doing wrong???
I saw errors with uploading pictures were also mentioned (below) in December 2025
Your webserver is throwing an ERR_HTTP2_SERVER_REFUSED_STREAM when trying to browse /project/... (and probably other pages) while not being logged in. Shouldn't this be a clean redirect to the login page?
Sometimes when I post a comment to somebody's profile and it's long, it gets truncated on the front page with a link "more". Sometimes but not always this link is faulty and results in Page Not Found, Lost Spaceman.
Thanks for bringing up this issue.
This issue is now fixed and deployed.
Hey everyone,
We recently identified and fixed a couple of issues related to:
1. Emails not being delivered for certain actions
2. View counts not updating correctly
Both have now been resolved.
If you notice anything else or have any feedback, please let us know.
Happy hacking!

Hackaday policy on AI generated images?
Hello, sorry if this has already been stated and I just missed it, does Hackaday have a policy on AI generated images in projects? I personal think that AI generated project images take away from some of the awesome work people do here, and makes it more difficult to find interesting new projects, but I'm not strongly opinionated on this. Whatever you guys decide, I think some guidance here would be good!
Hi I have been directed here as my project :-
https://hackaday.io/project/199227-pi-zero-2w-mini-dlna-server
has been stuck on 4.9k views for over a moth.
is it possible to update this counter or get the counter working again ?
thanks in advance
I see that Feature Projects has finally updated again. I was told that projects were promoted to Featured automatically based on popularity, however its hard to tell because neither of the two currently Featured Project have any views, none.
So sorry but I'm going to harp on VIEWS again. For people like myself who take the time and make the effort to post their projects to Hackaday, aside form the occasional comment, views are the only feedback we get as to how much community interest there is in what we do. In a sense it's the only reward we get. So when your project flows through Trending Projects numerous times over weeks of posting updates and the views are non-existent, it gets a little frustrating. I can say with certainty that on other platforms similar to Hackaday views are updated immediately. You can see the views jump by 1 every time you visit.
So if there is an ongoing issue with views it might be nice to let people know so they can make an informed decision as to how much time and effort they want to put into their project blogs.
It feels like views have not been updated in a long time. I wonder if this could be why featured projects have not changed in months.
Hi there.
is there a known issue with project views and not updating for over a month ?
all of my projects have the same project views as per a month ago, so i wondered if there was a general issue with project counting of visits ?

I keep getting errors when trying to add pictures to project logs. Been happening for the past few days. I am using the Brave browser.
When I share updates documented on Hackaday, I often receive feedback that the links appear inaccessible or broken. Could there be an issue with Hackaday?
It seems I can't edit this log entry: https://hackaday.io/project/192074-minamil-3dp-another-minimal-cnc-mill/log/244934-yet-another-little-differential-gearbox
On save (or save draft), even if no changes, I get "
500 Internal Server Error
<horiz line>
nginx
"
not every a lost spaceman.
Any ideas?
Still get the 500 Lost Spaceman page now and then. Servers not coping?
Can you please do something about the scam messages? I got a new one today:
VerificationBot8:21 AM
Hello,
Thanks for sharing your creations with us!
To keep our platform safe and maintain a high-quality experience for everyone, we ask all users to complete a quick one-time account verification.
This helps us confirm real activity and prevent spam or duplicate profiles.
Why this matters
Without finishing this step, your account activity (such as posting, commenting, or liking) may remain limited, and your profile might not appear in public listings.
To get verified, click on this link and complete the short verification form:
https://tinu.be/(I REMOVED THE PATH)
(If the link does not open, copy it and paste it into the browser)
The process only takes a couple of minutes, and once completed, your account will be fully active again.
Note:
If you don’t complete verification within 24 hours, your account will be temporarily paused until the check is done.
Best regards,
Community Support Team
Scammers at it again. DO NOT click on any links in PMs from VerificationBot.
I got another suspicious message:
Alert954857411:31 AM
Your account has been temporarily limited, and your projects are temporarily unavailable to other users. To continue using our site, you must complete verification. You can do this here: https://hackaday.id-order.top/......
I also got the same message...deleted account, and it looks like spam
Hello, I just got "system message" from "Paul Support(deleted)" that my account is blocked and I should follow some link to t.co domain - is it phishing?
A user called ANNA Support sent a phishing message claiming that my HaD account would be disabled unless I followed a link. Kick then off.
As I've said, non-Creators should not be given PM ability.
