Anita Perr & R. Luke Dubois (The NYU Ability Project)
Anita Perr, PhD, ATP, FAOTA, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Ms. Perr uses collaborative teaching to encourage students to explore the best ways to approach clinically relevant issues. Her extensive clinical experience informs her classroom teaching. Students appreciate the problem-based, practical nature of her courses.
R. Luke DuBois is a composer, artist, and performer who explores the temporal, verbal, and visual structures of cultural and personal ephemera. He holds a doctorate in music composition from Columbia University, and has lectured and taught worldwide on interactive sound and video performance. He has collaborated on interactive performance, installation, and music production work with many artists and organizations including Toni Dove, Todd Reynolds, Jamie Jewett, Bora Yoon, Michael Joaquin Grey, Matthew Ritchie, Elliott Sharp, Michael Gordon, Maya Lin, Bang on a Can, Engine 27, Harvestworks, and LEMUR, and was the director of the Princeton Laptop Orchestra for its 2007 season.
Andrew Chepaitis (ELIA Life Technology)
Andrew Chepaitis leads ELIA Life Technology, which develops assistive products for people who have a visual impairment. Under his leadership, the company has been awarded roughly $2.5 million in research and development grants. With this funding, the company is developing a suite of products that will enable its consumers to achieve greater levels of education, employment, literacy, and independence.
Chepaitis has worked as a grant reviewer at the National Institutes of Health since 2010. He is the author of four patents. He has also served on the national alumni boards of Lehigh University and the Hopkins School. He was formerly an equity research analyst at Credit Lyonnais USA and a lacrosse coach at Yale University. Chepaitis holds an international business degree from Lehigh University and an MBA from the University of New Haven.

Elia Frames Tactile Font is the world’s most intuitive tactile reading system. It is designed to be understood by touch for those who have a visual impairment, and by sight for those without. ELIA FRAMES leverages modern tactile printing technology and design principles to optimize each letter’s design and create easily identifiable characters. Each letter features an outer frame (circle, square, house) and interior elements that suggest the main characteristics of each standard alphabet letter.
