I need to form Plexiglas for simple teardrop lighting covers. This build using inexpensive Home Depot PVC plumbing parts is a hack I am pleased to share.

The BOM consists of a short section of 4" PVC pipe, 4" PVC pipe end, PVC toilet flange, PVC toilet flange extender, 4.75" Oring. Also required is a source of compressed air, air pressure regulator, misc fittings and clamps.

The cork gasket is only to corral the Oring - substitute at will.

The Plexiglas can be heated in a variety of ways. I chose to use a standard toaster oven at 275 degrees F. After clamping the hot Plexiglas in place, open the regulator slowly allowing a gradual rise of the formed Plexiglas. Avoid thermal shocking the plastic with a rapid blast of air.

This is my first attempt using .090 Plexiglas. Thinner would probably be better.

A template can be sandwiched on top of the plastic to form the shape you require.
