This trap will connect locally to any WiFi network and send a twitter message when the trap has been sprung. You can then have your personal twitter account to monitor new tweets from the Critter Trap account and send a text message if anything new is posted.

This is a very simple solution requiring very minimal hardware and nearly all of the code is simply copy & paste. You can even lend this to a friend and they could use all the same functionality without having to touch a single line of code to configure WiFi thanks to the convenience that Electric Imp provides.

My number one goal in this design is simplicity so that anyone can build this project with minimal experience or effort. I believe I have accomplished that, but you can be the judge.
