1Before You Start
Get the instructions PDF from the files section, which has step by step instructions in picture format!
-
2Step 2
Assemble the Pibow case around the Raspberry Pi Model A+.
-
3Step 3
Laser cut the suspension parts from 3mm MDF and glue the parts together.
-
4Step 4
Mount the motors on the suspension pieces. Solder leads and flyback capacitors to the motors. Push wheels onto the motor shafts.
-
5Step 5
Cut the aluminium bar to 110mm and polish until it is nice and shiny.
-
6Step 6
Build the lower parts of the lego chassis. Slide the lego pieces and the custom MDF pieces onto the aluminium bar, and insert technic pins at the ends to hold the bar in place.
-
7Step 7
Place the springs into the suspension pieces and then fit the lego plates over them.
-
8Step 8
Take 5mm white LEDs and pare them down to 4.75mm by putting them in a drill chuck and sanding away the sides on the highest speed. Insert the now 4.75mm LEDs into the holes in the front beam.
-
9Step 9
Build the power PCB as shown in the circuit diagram and PCB layout.
-
10Step 10
Build the LED PCBs for the yellow and red lights. (Note: diagrams for this aren't uploaded yet, but the PCBs are very simple. Just a couple of LEDs and resistors.)
