while I'm waiting I have plenty more todo. All this gack is going to be packed inside my helmet somehow so I'm thinking of making everything smaller (except the screen). I'm going to chop off all the excess wiring and disassemble the RX unit to see if I can save any space there.

I would like to reduce the rig to 1 power source because that's taking the majority of space and having a 9V battery next to my head probably isn't all that safe in the event of a collision and helmet impact.... :p
