Our lab is located at the Downtown Central Library, on the 3rd Floor, towards the North East corner. The lab is regularly used for open/public clubs, free workshops, and all sorts of free prototyping.
Our Maker Lab was originally funded by
an LSTA grant in 2013 when we opened our new Central Library building. Since then,
thanks to generous donations from our community, we've been able to
slowly expand the lab to add additional machines. The new space was
funded in part by the California State Library.
Most people come by to see the 3D printers and to see the various display items we have. Then they learn how easy it is to use and that it's a free public resource. This results in them immediately starting to work on ideas that have been on the back burner or starting to dream up new wonderful things.
