Accidental falling is a dangerous uncertainty that elders face everyday. One small mistake can result in long lasting impacts that individuals may never recover from. Our main goal at Embrace Solutions is to make it a priority to bring protection against this unpredictable threat.
The effects of aging can bring about many unwanted changes such as blurry vision, loss of hearing, decreased motors skills, slower reflexes, and lower bone density. As a result, falling often leads to detrimental consequences both mentally and physically. According to the National Institute of Health, 1/3 of the individuals over the age of 65 falls at least once a year. Every 11 seconds, an older adult is treated in the emergency room for a fall; every 19 minutes, an older adult dies from a fall.
In 2013, over 2.8 million injuries were treated in the emergency department, which includes over 800,000 cases of hospitalizations and more than 27,000 deaths. This statistic is heartbreaking. Currently, the Embrace group is working diligently in producing a minimal viable model which will be featherweight and compact. With this minimal model, we aim to provide the users with critical protection and comfort, so they can wear it, and forget it.
The Embrace team is determined to bring forward a solution to this widespread problem so that these older adults can go back to living their life to the fullest.
