It's advisable to test that the camera works before encapsulating. I did this by powering the camera from my bench supply, attaching the video pair wires to another video balun (to turn the signal back into the usual coax composite), and attaching that to a video display.

After encapsulation, I did the same thing. Then I put the camera into a bowl of water and did it again, left it there for an hour, and did it one more time.
