In implementing a video streaming service at my church, we found we needed a quick way to communicate with the sound board operator information about whom to turn up or down for better audio to add to our stream. The problem is the sound board operator is in the sanctuary and the video streaming setup is not. In order to deliver the "turn up lead guitarist" message we had to walk down the hallway and whisper it into the ear of the sound board operator and then go back into the streaming room to check and see if it was enough. To rectify this situation, I've cobbled together a little hack that uses a 16X2 Serial LCD panel, an LED pushbutton switch and a Particle Photon, with a UWP VB.Net app. This way any message can be sent through the app running on the Streaming PC to the LCD panel situated in the sound booth where the sound board operator can acknowledge the requested change by pressing the LED
