We live in a world surrounded by connected electronic devices, communicating at various
frequencies (Radio, GSM, WIFI, Bluetooth) by emetting electromagnetic waves all around them. A major part of this energy is wasted and create an « electromagnetic pollution ».
What if we could recycle this wasted energy to face one of the biggest problem of the IOT of tomorrow : embedded energy supply. The goal of this project is to create a functionnal energy harvester, able to collect wasted electromagnetic wave’s energy and transform it into electricity to supply various ultra-low power electronic devices.
The µWave Energy Harvester design consists of an antenna adapted for a frequency range, a suitable voltage rectifier and a high efficiency DC-DC converter able to store collected energy into a supercapacitor.
