A project log for Slightly bigger radio telescope

My aim for this project is to create a slightly larger radio telescope, which is able to observe signals on the 21cm hydrogen line

All I have some far are some sketches of the design I will use for this telescope project. However, before buying any parts, I will test out the dish with my SDR and some LNAs - to see if I can receive a signal at 1420MHz.

I also have an alternative design. I don't like this one as much, since it will probably be more difficult to build, and wouldn't necessarily provide better results. Here it is:
