The lion kingdom's surround sound when it 1st arrived in 2001.
Pictured 4 years later. As positive as the memories are, it was never true surround sound because the rear speakers were closer to the sides. Its mane use was fake surround sound synthesized by dolby pro logic. That did a better job than the true surround sound in a DVD.
The drivers completely bleached in 22 years & have ripped. While the plan was to replace these with better speakers, inflation has made it more attractive to do what can be done to repair the existing ones. What was $400 is now $4000. The subwoofer still survives.
LGR's surround sound.
Funky attachment required for the speakers.
LGR's system would be useful for a standing desk. It could be upgraded to carbon fiber rods. The mane problems are the size of the speakers, where to put the center speaker, where to collapse it. Maybe it could go on 2 really big carbon fiber rods that simply pointed up for storage.
Very expensive in today's money.
The most practical solution for large 22 year old speakers is still hanging them from the ceiling.
