A general frustration with Linux on ARM and a need for more powerful processors lead me to abandon SLODAC. I'm now looking into re-purposing the parts as a car-computer.



Slodac is a laptop with the axioms of "Somewhat Libre; Open Design; Accessible Components"

Christopher Bero aka [ctag] started this project after reading about the early stages of Novena laptop endeavors. Slodac is designed with off-the-shelf parts where available, and currently runs Archlinux-Arm.

The laptop is driven by a quad core IMX.6 arm processor on its motherboard, a Wandboard-quad. It is in [ctag's] hope that the final product will meet certain ideals for being libre. This means that with proper administration, the system should be fairly secure.

Project is close to "beta" stage, and the B-1 shell is down to tweaking and hacking to finish. After this design is solid, I will write up and post the procedure and associated knowledge to b
