Rigol Screen Grabber

Description

The Rigol DS1054Z is a great workhorse of an oscilloscope: economical, fully featured, and used by DIY'ers and professionals alike. But for Mac and Linux users, there are few tools that can communicate with the 'scope. This cross-platform command line script, written in Python, captures the current display of the DS1054Z as a .png file.

@Dan Maloney : I'm pretty sure the Rigol can store to a USB thumb drive (but I've never tried it). I prefer the instant gratification of grabbing the images to my laptop directly via the USB cable... :)

Yeah, makes sense. I think I can hook up my Keysight directly to my PC using a USB cable, but I haven't explored that yet. Probably have to buy a license to do anything useful, though - grumble. Might need to script something myself...

Nice hack. Does the Rigol not have a button for screen caps? Or is this a way to avoid have to shuffle USB drives between the scope and a PC?
