It's a PT3 format chiptune music player written by Shiru for ESPboy project. The format is a kind of standard de-facto for AY-3-8910 chiptune music. This chip and its analogs have been used at:
- ZX Spectrum-128 and it's clones
- Apple II sound card
- Amstrad CPC
- FM-7 (Fujitsu Micro-7)
- MSX computers
- Atari ST family computers
- Atari Falcon
- Famicom in Sunsoft 5B mapper
About 25000 songs have been made since the mid-90s when it was first introduced.
The program emulates AY sound chip and plays PT3 files loaded into the SPIFFS. The sound is output through the sigma-delta modulation based DAC via the built-in speaker. It also supports I2S stereo DAC if connected (change define in the sketch, no run-time option to switch between outputs at the moment).
You can see and hear at this video the ESPboy DAC module play of few melodies from Shiru.
