If you've been following HestiaPi, there's a new project taking shape.

Hestia32 is the next-generation thermostat I'm developing, based on the ESP32 rather than Raspberry Pi. The goal is to keep the core HestiaPi philosophy - open hardware, open-source software, local operation and no cloud subscriptions - while creating a simpler, dedicated thermostat platform.

It features a 3.5" touchscreen, multiple HVAC relay outputs, temperature and humidity sensing, OTA updates and local integrations including Home Assistant, OpenHAB and MQTT. There will be versions for both conventional 24V HVAC systems and European 240V mains installations. Hardware is chosen wisely so that future Thread, Matter and Zigbee support is planned through firmware updates while keeping the same board.

The hardware and software are being developed openly, and the project is now getting close to production.
