Hello and nice to see you again,
it has been a while since the last update, but the project is still alive and it made a big step forward. So let‘s talk about some details:

Client Tile
The client got a new version, this time with the Atmega4809. The old chip was running out of space and out of pins, the new one gives me a lot more room to breathe. It also solved some of the strange behaviour i had before, things that i wasn‘t able to explain for weeks.
Speaking of software, the issues i mentioned in the last log are solved now. It took some evenings but the clients are running stable, no random resets and no lost tiles anymore.

Master
The search algorithm of the master is improved and stabilized. Before it happend that one or two tiles were not found and i had to restart the hole game, now it finds all of them reliable.
I also worked on the data protocol in general and made it much faster. The old version had a noticeable delay, you rolled the dice and had to wait until the board reacts. Now there is nearly no time delay anymore, it feels like the board answers directly. Unlike on the picture, it has now a little bit of extra error detection.

RFID
The RFID module was a little bit unstable, sometimes it detects a token, sometimes not. After some testing i fixed this with ferrit foil between the module and the rest of the electronic. Cheap solution, big effect, now the detection works like it should.

Printing and Building
The printer was running for days. I printed the frames and all the resources and built the connection bridges between the fields, so the tiles are hold in place and connected at the same time. The dice are also connected with the game now, so the master gets the rolled number directly without anyone typing it in.

Whats next

There is still work to do:

• Building the roads, settlements and cities
• Printing the robber
• Creating new number tokens. The actual ones are not bright enough and you can hardly read them when the light is off, so i want them to glow better and also be good to recognize without any light
