I just got a very friendly email from PCBway — they are offering to sponsor this project!
(i.e. I get a discount on their services for giving feedback on the experience along the way, no strings attached so far).

So.... errr... Let's go, I'd say! Let's build a nice VTech ROM emulator cartridge (based on the RP2350?) and have PCBWay produce the initial prototypes! Sounds nice to me! Am I missing something? What do you think?
