    Day 4 Experience  (2/11/19)

    • Learned how tilt switches work
    • Becoming better with the flexibility offered by breadboards and how the Arduino works in general
    • Almost completes the research needed for literature review
    • Most Arduino projects uses same concept, therefore some projects that uses similar components were skipped.
    • I feel confident to start on a proper circuit now
    • I have obtained the first plush penguin for the body

    Attached are videos of me doing the Magic LED and tilt switches, one of the final projects on the book

    The tutorials are finished, now I have begin designing on the penguin robot! So wish me luck :>

    Day 3 Experience (27/10/19)

    • TX on Arduino indicates if the board is receiving or using a signal
    • Found out several extensions to the board that might help with the project
    • EMIC 2 TTS – A text to speech board that allows the robot to communicate
    • MPR121- Capacitive Touch Breakout board that have 12 touch sensors that helps the robot be touched etc
    • I am also making good progress on the Arduino tutorials. Its more of making use of LDRs to act as sensors

    The tutorials are pretty straightforward, so it is possible for me to finish it soon!

    Day 2 Experience (26/10/19)

    I am currently working with Yun, a fellow student learning how to use Arduino

    The 4th Project gave us some difficulties as we followed the instructions from the book step by step, but we forgot how phototransistors work. Our circuit board was not functional as the current wasn’t flowing due to the one directional behaviour of the component. It took us 10 minutes to figure out why.

    The next project we made taught us how the Arduino can be coded into a controller of some sort. The project uses servo motor, something I have never used before. My board caused some problems as it was still using the recording codes from the previous project, causing the motor to move in a crazy way. I had to recode it and rewire the board as it was not connected properly.

    I’ve also learned how to get around the breadboard, which I have only used once for my  experiment in my 2nd year.

    Day 1 Experience (19/10/19)

    • Instructions are clear and easy to follow
    • I am beginning to understand the role of microcontrollers and how it works
    • Actuators are respond mechanisms, therefore was not purely mechanical as I expected before.
    • Learned how the breadboard work. It’s like multiple wires embedded to the board, just connect them together to make a bigger circuit. Also learned how to make series and parallel circuit
    • Learned what the digital pin does
    • Completed tutorials up to tutorial 2, where I learned how the control system work

    Some new coding words:

    digitalWrite = turns on or off

    So far I am liking this Arduino Board :>
