    Hi guys,

With a suggestion from the designer (@Marek) uLogger have a new black solder mask PCB.

    It looks awesome!!!

We are updating the firmware to clean up all the PCB bugs and hacks we introduced to test the latest prototypes.

The ST32 firmware is under heavy testing. The UI web part for the ESP32 module is not done yet. It supports just simple monitoring without the possibility to configure and change anything.

We also decided that a mobile application for Android/iPhone could be useful as well so I started to develop one with the Flutter framework.  Soon I will share screenshots or even Play Store/Apple Store links.

ahh, I would forget that logger also have a proper plastic enclosure where it fits as it should. Let's wait for new pictures when I receive fully prepared, CNC drilled enclosures with PCB inside.

P.S. If you are of any chance interested in that project just like it here on Hackaday or drop me a DM message. Sharing with this community helps to motivate us ;) Thanks !!

    Hi all,
Marek (co-author) of this project rendered nice 3d video of PCB ;)

    Soon more updates.

Sneak peek: We are almost done with firmaware. Just testing features.

    Have fun !
    Best,
    Rafal

  • Parts are here, let's play around with firmware

    Hi all,

In recent weeks we ordered and received almost 90% of the parts needed to assemble prototypes of uLogger.  This was quite an endeavor since the electronic industry recently (almost 2 years now) struggling with the long production process of uC and most of the big distributors are lacking parts or they disappear quickly from shelves.

Initially, uLogger was supposed to have a different design with a different STM32 but we were waiting and waiting for this selected uC to again appear on shelves. We decided to change the design and adjust the firmware to complete this project.

    Here is it.

We still lack the ESP32 wifi module (it can be seen in 2nd picture) but the rest of the components are already mounted.

The next step will be adjusting already written firmware for the new STM32 uC and tests, tests, and tests.

That's it for now. Have a nice DIY time for yourself.
    Best regards,

    Rafal

  • STM32 updated - new version of the PCB

    Rafal Woloszyn01/20/2023 at 12:53 0 comments

For some time this project was on hold due to a shortage of STM32 microcontroller which I based the project on. Since I had a few STM32 in my repository it was enough to develop and even use it in production but it was not worth sharing it with the public (in my opinion). Since there is another need (a few people asked me about that) I decided to move for another STM32 microcontroller that is available on the market. I did change to PCB and I am starting to assemble new prototypes.  A few pictures of the new PCB are below.

In the next couple of weeks, I will adjust the firmware to work with the new STM32 uC and send some demo units to people across my network for further testing. It's designed to fit on one of the shelf plastic enclosures which was designed for it. I will post the fully assembled device later.

Let me know if you are interested in this project and why? What is your use case?

End of update ;P Take care.
