For a 3D-reconstruction of photographed objects, you'll need pictures of that object from every side and angle. This process is called Photogrammetry. So this turn-table, driven by a cheapstepper, with camera can make pictures after the rotation of 360°, 180° ,90° ,45° down to 0,35° is done. A picture sequence will be done if 360° are reached and the object hase turned once around itself.See it in action in the demo videos. The videos are not taken with the show camera.based on: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1826589 by Silent_Bob

I used that "turn-table" to show off my silly modelling kits, without peforming a 3d-scan.
