Description

Rainfall is measured by rain volume collected over some time divided by the collecting area. I wanted to measure the collecting area of my gauge, but this area is not enclosed by a simple geometry. However, the collector opening has a rim which can be imaged by stamping. From the stamped image I calculated the area by using the image processing program Gimp.
