Circuit sculpture using electroforming for organic-ish blinkenlights

yesterday the trunk was very smooth.

Today is starting to show the texture on the trunk and limbs away from the cut ends.

The hot glue strings look stupid. I should have been way more careful with it. In fact I'm almost certain I should have used nail polish.

The solder pad on the circuit board is starting to not look like an error.

A note about painting with electrolysis: if you run the voltage way up the coating will be black. If you leave it in solution you can oxidize it green in a day or two. If you add miralax you can get it real shiny.

In theory I should be able to change the voltage and solution for particular goals and when that has been achieved I can seal it with a clear enamel to stop the process on that piece. So I should be able to scorch the earth, seal it, green the limbs up, seal them,  build up gnarly bark, seal it, or some combo like that. Noting of course that as I seal things the surface area will change and the behavior of the currents with it.

The leads coming out the bottom grew big crystals as well, so I clipped them off to keep the electricity surface area where I wanted. If I hadn't messed up my polarity that may not have been a problem.

A question for anyone who reads this.

If you electroplate a 3d print, could you burn out the pla and have a copper shell?
