This is my old project, which few people know about. I tried directing 500 laser pointers to one point. It took about six months, but I liked the result. I decided to share it here.
Each laser module consumes about 30 mA at a voltage of 5 V. All modules are connected in parallel. Total consumption is about 15 A.
I used cheap laser modules and materials. Of course, it is impossible to combine all lasers at one point without the exact equipment.
When the laser module is working, it heats up and moves slightly. Therefore, over time, the laser beams are redistributed in space.
The area in which it turned out to combine the laser beams is approximately 30x30 mm.
I used a smoke generator to better see laser beams. It looked amazing!
Very nice! I have >100 of these lasers and one thing I didn't realize at first is that the metal can unscrews. It is springloaded holding the lens. You can dial in the focus for each laser individually. I was pretty happy with the unfocused beam and thrilled when I discovered that. Did you dial them in at some point? Looked a bit fuzzy on the target.
