Before I had a 3D printer, I would use cardboard, recyclables and various other household objects in my creations. For RPC, I used two tin cans, a rubberband, some fishing string and thermomorph plastic to create the skeleton of the robot. It worked well enough for a while, but with use, the molded snap fittings and rubberband did not hold up well. So it has spent the last half of it's life in a pile.
My goal now that I have a 3D printer is to create a more robust body for the robot. I like the overall crazy scrappy look of the first version, so I still want to utilize the patterned socks, googly eyes and feathers on V2.
