LC TESTER oscilloscope RC network LC TANK cheap

This project was created on 02/09/2021 and last updated 5 years ago.

Description

So it was something like, I need more testing equipment *staring at LC testers*
after a bit of screwing about, an adapted version of w2aew adaptation of -I assume EDN's Glen Chenier's - LC tester/test method was made, where we have a fast-edge essentially used to "ring" an LC tank circuit to test inductance, and "fill" a RC network to test for capacitance, trick is keeping one of the parts in this setup well characterized and using a super duper fast-edge.

w2aew used the gr8 74AC14 to make the fast-edges, but I'm broke so I had to salvage my way through this one, and basically started plucking components from a dead PSU and cobbled up this monstrosity, with just an LM339 & 7805 + a cocktail of passives. tbh it is not the best thing in the world but it does its job fairly well...
