NRF24LE1 is a curios chip that in my opinion deserves proper community attention. It combines everyone's favorite NRF24L01 radio chip with powerful 8051-family MCU core. It is incredible value for money, but not that easy to start with, since modules available on the market has inconvenient format while tooling is quite poor.
I'm trying to close the gap and prepare more user friendly version of the board to play with. I'm more focused on hardware part, since in software area there are people far more skillful then I am.
I never described original board, since I did few mistakes there and aprat from basic testing it wasn't any use. But also it gave me ideas in which direction this project should go.
1. I replaced Arduino socket with actual Atmega328P chip, it is cheaper and actually looks better
2. I reshaped the board the way it can be used with breadboard. I find it myself most useful in development.
The board (rev B) came in not without issues, but with few bodge wires I made it work. And it works great
Now I'm planning to fix issued found and document all the work done. The board itself is open source and open hardware, but I'm planning to prepare small batch for distribution on Tindie whenever anyone interested

Nice. I always thought the NRF24LE1 was an under-appreciated chip by the maker community. Even though it's long in the tooth today it's still a neat little device. Easy to use in a way that a lot of more complex SOCs are not. And well supported by SDCC. Brennen Ball did a bunch of good work supporting it too.
