New Workbench on Old Legs

Building my first workbench from mostly salvaged materials

This project really grew out of some inherited items that all seemed to be leading me in the same direction. First, there was this set of gorgeous old cast iron bench legs and a decent vise. Then a friend offered me a thick butcher-block counter top he didn't need any more, and I managed to pick up a second hand Wilton wood vise off craigslist. This project is a record of my thought process in figuring out how to synthesize all of this into a work-worthy piece of furniture.
