Demonstration of the Timer Operating
This project uses a 555 timer and a few op amps to convert voltage to frequency with emphasis on data measurement
The project is far from perfect and I am sure it has been done before. It was a quick and dirty solution to a unique problem. Note the voltage regulator (reference) and power supply sub-assembly aren't in the schematic. Things to fix in the future. For entirely junk bin parts the performance is above expectation.
The op amp on the actual board ended up being a LM4580 but this isn't important, the bandwidth required for the front end is basically DC, the output side is only 20 kHz. Two buffers are used so unity gain stable is important.
It can in fact measure negative voltage also. In this case below 10 kHz. There is a point where the control line will turn the oscillator off though.
