SPCOM
SPCOM is a PC-compatible multifunction communications board, providing STEbus PC systems with both serial and parallel communications.
The board's two RS232 serial ports (COM1/2, or COM3/4) can simultaneously transmit and receive at up to 20Kbaud asynchronously. A Centronics parallel printer port (LPT1 or LPT2), allows communication with most standard parallel printers.
Connection to the board is such that for the RS232 ports, a 20-way ribbon cable can be directly connected to two PC-compatible 9-way D-type connectors.
For systems builders, an Arcom standard 10-way serial connector allows direct connection to the SERT 1 serial 1/O connector board.
On the parallel printer port, a ribbon cable connects directly to a 25-way D-type connector.
