88mm linear poti from Amazon embedded into an enclosure that uses a 1/4" rod from Home Depot and some glue.

I don't think I will make a fake nut on the front just to make it look like the original. It's supposed to feel like the original in the hand and have a linear function. I'm not building a movie prop here. :)
