This is a deck for writing/ coding in my sunroom and generally in direct sunlight, where traditional lcds would be unreadable.

Since I prefer my Ergodox, there is no keyboard attached. I use a removable 30000 mAh power bank as battery, which powers a lattepanda alpha 800s and an eInk display with HDMI controller. The display has three modes, Dither, B/W and Greyscale. It runs a standard Windows 10 at the moment.

All connections are assessible from the outside, so I can also use it as an external monitor or power it from an outlet.

This was made without much prior planning, I took the needed measurements directly from the components and transferred them to the part that needed to be fitted.

Power tools used were an angle grinder and a drill. The rest was done with simple hand tools

    I measured the power draw of the eink Display. It is 1.5 Watts for text-based applications and 2.5 Watts for video in dither mode.

    The cat image is an jpeg file that gets displayed on the display after the device is powered off and stays there until it is powered on again.

    I'll publish the script when I get it to be a bit more reliable
