As the title suggests, I now know that gutting a vintage computer (even if it’s bricked) is detested within the community. BUT here we are, so y’all are just gonna have to grit your teeth. This is a TI 99/4A that I picked up for $20 on Craigslist. I thought it looked cool and would make a great case mod. Also, my university was founded by Texas Instruments, so adds to the neat factor. The plan is to make a 3D modeling portable PC that can comfortably run master CADs and flow bench work.
CPU: Intel i5 9400F
GPU: Ryzen WX3100
MB: ASRock IMB 1214 mini itx
16 GB RAM
External 19V 200W power supply
NVMe SSD
Some sort of small screen that plugs into an eDP slot
Keyboard is up in the air (Probably a micro USB tablet keyboard, IDK how to wire or code an arduino)
Anyways, lmk what y’all think :)
