Make Water utilizes a unique combination of hardware construction, software integration, video storytelling, in-person instruction, and collaborative learning to teach K-12 students about emerging, real-world water issues and sustainability solutions. The program utilizes the coagulator kit or Intro Kit to filter contaminants from water samples. Make Water brings new, innovative, and sustainable technologies and techniques to the forefront of students’ education. While conducted locally, the Make Water program takes a global perspective on how its sustainable and innovative technologies make tangible differences. Make Water’s primary goals are to 1) increase interest and enrollment in STEM-based degree and career programs with special focus on environmental programs; and 2) contribute to overall water health and quality monitoring through student-led innovations, research, and global outreach.
