Project Status Summary as of December 7, 2022.
The schematic diagram is 95% complete. There are some details left, but overall this is the final. Apparently I managed to make the bus workable from the PDC connector from Amstrad -- with minimal modifications. As in the A520 the connector had to be enlarged to 62 pins. The design of the overall synthesizer structure was also completed.
The DTX format PCB has the placement of all components, and there are already some traces. The printed circuit board contains the following interfaces:
- VGA
- HDMI
- MIDI
- 4xUSB
- 2xUSB For ISP MCU
- Sound linear out, linear in, headphones
- 3xSockets for system bus
- 3xSockets for voices bus
The following tasks remain to be done:
- Complete the trace.
- Design the source code of the FPGA contents
- Design the source code of the microcontroller
- Make a modification to the A520 code to run on the new platform
