Chip design has historically only available to large companies and well funded universities. With the advent of open source ASIC tooling and the open source PDKs we now have more opportunities than ever before to learn and hack on chip design.

Tiny Tapeout uses the open source tools to further lower the barrier to entry by pushing the tools into the cloud, enabling you to dip your toes into ASIC design using only a browser.

You can use either the online Wokwi circuit design tool or if you have some prior experience, use an HDL.

We have also developed SiliWiz, another online tool that teaches you how the basic digital building blocks like inverters are built on silicon.
