I wanted to try out the MCS1806 linear hall-effect current sensors. They have high isolation, are simple to interface, and paired with a pico means you can literally take your current sensor anywhere. The high amperage of the sensor means you *can* measure your appliances, but I'll have to see about the board thermal performance...

The board is currently populated with a MCS1806GS-3-05-Z, and a MCS1806GS-3-20-Z (i.e., the 5A version and the 20A version).  The 3rd position is not populated right now (cost reduction!).

I used 4.7 nF filters for the FILT connection, so the bandwidth on the current sensor is roughly 20 kHz.
