While browsing Etsy, I kept noticing listings for a particular style of glowing inlay ring. I noticed that pretty much all of these rings seemed to be made on the same few base blanks, so I decided to learn how to make them myself.
The ring blanks are available in ceramic (my fav), titanium, and wood. Inlay material is synthetic crushed opal, strontium aluminate glow-in-the-dark powder, and cyanoacrylate adhesive binder. All of the components are delightfully inexpensive.
Each ring is hand-polished to about 2,000-grit, then buffed.
I had so much fun with these that I decided to put on a community class for folks to make their own. One friend of mine even used his ring as part of a marriage proposal!
