I started by identifying which charger I would use for this project. The primary consideration began with range...it needed to be able to transmit the signal through the tray. I started with a PowerBot charger which did work, but only had one coil....I had to place the phone almost perfectly to get a charge. I then ordered a Nokia DT-900 charger which has 3 coils. Additionally, since this charger runs off of 12v I was able to wire it directly into a power source in my truck.

As illustrated in the attached pics, I was able to remove the charger from the case, install it in the tray lid (had to grind off a couple of plastic pieces), and wire it directly into a 12v power port in the back of my center console.

Works great!
