This is a distraction from writing the Pelicam software but days off and nice weather, have to fly
I'm going to at the very least build a crude 1 day thing that functions
It is pretty much just a battery-powered rpi cam... but it will be attached to the ESP touchscreen
I want to see what the footage looks like, I decided to go with the standard v3 cam, that's apparently like a 30mm full frame... looking at a photo I took of a horizon I think this is good, wide angle is too much for the plane/would be a small dot
The ML part right now does not have a purpose here other than a learning tool for me (make my own model for my rc glider)
I'm buying another... camera again so now I have 3 of these standard modules ha
The biggest unknown right now aside from the ML part is the ESP display... it is touch screen, has an IMU, has a graphics deal... I have to learn that then bridge it with the RPi like by i2c or something
Task list:
- prototype clip
- model body
- try to interface pi with display touch
- worst case temporary physical buttons
I had considered buying an ADC for detecting battery voltage... maybe a shunt/amp meter... idk
I'll just go with "best case" but don't want to lose video too, active saving maybe in chunks
Audio is external since I wear a RODE... I do wish it had a mic... saw USB
Kind of sucks can't hear the environment, a field mic maybe
I will fly regardless been like 9 months

Was thinking about putting the battery under the hat brim for weight distribution... but on top is fine too
I'm thinking about buying some colored PLA tomorrow... like a grey, light blueish grey...
Idk... I guess black is default, maybe with the sun black is a bad choice but it generally looks good... plus less expense
I'll read up on the touch display that I have but yes Tuesday Mar 19 will fly
