I'm about to release two new media center devices. They are successors of Louder Raspberry Media Center and Louder-Esparagus and are called Amped Raspberry Media Center and Amped-Espragus, accordingly. I replaced TAS5805M with a combination of HiFi PCM5102A DAC and TPA3110 D-class amp. In terms of raw power, they are very close to TAS5805M, but much simpler to use; it only needs a valid I2S signal - that's it. For Raspberry, that's simple dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac one-liner, and for ESP32, it is a simple I2S startup code with no need of I2C config.
A small improvement over the predecessor, they have the IR reader moved to the front face and a single RGB LED replaced by a strip of 8 LEDs. Additionally, space allowed placing the rotary encoder on the Esparagus board, which is a nice addition, I think. Both will ship with a smoked glass front face by default, so the LEDs can shine!
