Our project entails a muscle training device designed to be attached to the armrest of a wheelchair.
This is a compact device that features a hook where the user can fasten a resistance band. It provides a range of exercises to strengthen the arm muscles that can offer a pratical and accessible solution for wheelchair users looking for exercising.

Here are screens of our 3D model :

Elastic band prototypes ready for testing (4 different sizes)

On the 5th week, during the "testing in real conditions" phase (cf logbook) we had a resistance issue that broke the product, here is a picture :

The final 3d model (new features : better resistance, bigger product, adding the top plate) :

  • 1 × cardboard for the prototype
  • 1 × tape for the prototype

    5TH WEEK :

    - Testing it in real conditions

    - Choosing the right elastic band size

    - Studying feedback and problems

    - Remodeling the product to give it the final shape and fixing the problems

    - Printing it one last time

    4TH WEEK :

    • 3d printed device done

    • Testing and fixing the device (e.g we got a problem with the hook)

    • Searching and finding an elastic band (good resistance, material, size)

    1ST WEEK :

       • Brainstorming (looking for ideas, checking on internet, finding solutions).

       • Writing down ideas (drafts, skteching design concepts...).

       • Taking the dimensions of the wheelchair.

       • Choosing the materials that will be used for our project.

    2ND WEEK :

    • Design ( drawing a final version of what the device should look like )

    • 3D modeling ( starting to work on 3D concepts on Fusion360 )

    • Prototyping ( making a first prototype with cardboard to see what are the problems )

    • Brainstorming ( making a point on our new objectives, what we should do next )

    3RD WEEK :

    • 3D modeling ( finishing the 3D model with the good

    • Choosing the final materials.
