People suffer from pains like eye soreness, backaches, and shoulder pains while working with a traditional keyboard and mouse. These strains negatively impact people’s work habits, especially individuals with arthritis or repetitive strain injury (RSI). The solution to this—contrary to the static positioning that current ergonomic devices enforce—is spatial freedom, being able to continuously switch between natural positions. This project presents ErgO, a small unobtrusive ring worn on the pointer finger that tracks users’ hand motions to control their Bluetooth devices. It acts as an extension so that people can pick their own relaxed working positions, revolutionizing the modern computer setup.
