I "repurposed" the self reversing screw mechanism I designed for my Marblevator to create a walking machine. The mechanism employs two bogies that slide forward and rearward on the mechanism tracks. The wheel well housings, wheels and axles combine to allow the wheels to roll in the forward direction, and lock in the rearward direction, allowing the mechanism to shuffle forward.
