We want to help diego tie his shoelaces more easily.
Inspired by the lacing system on boa snowboard boots. We began by investigating how ratchet wheels work, and obtained a 3d model.
Once that was done
But before trying out this model on a 3d printer, we made drawings and 3d models using cardboard.
The cardboard was too fragile to withstand the force exerted by the rubber band, so we replaced the cardboard components with wooden ones.
after a few modifications, the ratchet-wheel mechanism works very well.
