Dang... I lost what I wrote, I suspected possibility ahh well.

Have not worked on anything in a couple months (just working a lot).

Was thinking about this.

The cameras I've worked on so far with the lens wrappers are blind... it blocks the f-stop numbers.

The idea would be to make a control loop where software can set a specific f-stop and know how far it has zoomed or focused depending on the lens. The Arducam 8-50mm for example has 3 rings that can rotate.

I want to briefly explain the ML Hat Cam... it has manually dialed in positions see the vide below

Then it uses laplace variance through computer vision to test the focus of the image eg. it's not blurry. That's how it autofocused.

This will have physical feedback so you can set a specific f-stop through a GUI
