I am a complete noob when it comes to board design. My recently acquired "enough to be dangerous" skillset with KiCad has me exploring. When it came time to route this mess I tried the FreeRouting plug-in to route the traces for me. It was fun to watch it work solving the puzzle. 

It's not pretty and I am sure real board designers are cringing right now but it saved me hours of clunking around to do it.
