What is ANAVI Infrared pHAT?

The board features:
- 2x 5mm IR transmitters (IR LEDs)
- IR receiver (IR photo sensor)
- Slots for up to 3 plug and play sensors
- UART pins for debugging
Getting started with ANAVI Infrared pHAT is super easy. No soldering is required.You can assemble the kit with your bare hands and start using it immediately on Raspbian, the most popular GNU/Linux distribution for Raspberry Pi. Comprehensive user's manual with exact steps is available. Out of the box ANAVI Infrared pHAT supports sensors for temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and light. Free and open source examples written in Python and C are available in GitHub.
ANAVI Infrared pHAT started as a small hobby project of Leon Anavi. The boards are designed, manufactured and assembled in his hometown Plovdiv, Bulgaria, EU.
Can I control my TV and HiFi?
Yes, with ANAVI Infrared pHAT and the open source software LIRC you can scan the remote control of your TV and/or HiFi and after to control the device through your Raspberry Pi.
Can I control my air conditioning?
Yes, although air conditioning remote controls are much more sophisticated you can still scan them and control the air conditioning with ANAVI Infrared pHAT. The user's manual features an example how to configure LIRC to turn on and off an air conditioner.
Which Sensors Are Supported?
ANAVI Infrared pHAT officially supports the following I2C sensor modules:
- HTU21 for temperature and humidity
- BMP180/BMP280 for barometric pressure
- BH1750 for light
You may also attach any other I2C sensors but you will have to take care of their software integration.
Which Raspberry Pi Versions and Models Are Supported
ANAVI Infrared pHAT is compatible with the following Raspberry Pi models and versions:
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
- Raspberry Pi 2 Model B
- Raspberry Pi 1 Model A+
- Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+
- Raspberry Pi 0
- Raspberry Pi 0 W
ANAVI Infrared pHAT is NOT compatible with the earlier 26-pin models of Raspberry Pi 1 Model B & A's.
Is ANAVI Infrared pHAT an Open Source Project?
Yes, ANAVI Infrared pHAT is an open source hardware project powered and created with free and open source software. The board is designed with the free and open source electronics design automation suite KiCAD. The schematics, the PCB design and open source software are available in GitHub.
Open source sample applications written in Python and the C programming language are provided. Using LIRC, the popular free and open source software for Linux, you may scan IR remote controls and control home appliances such as TV, HiFi, air conditioning, etc. Have a look at the comprehensive user's manual to learn more.

Meybe make replacable infrared led to normal flashlight and image detect from monocular? Not replace infrared but change module inrfared OR visible light. Light flashlight todat is seeing for many many km. Wy not put matrix 3x4 flashlight and read it trought ccd ?
